InformOntario (IO) is one of several associations involved in the promotion and development of information and referral networks, professional standards and delivery of community information.
All of our members offer community resource databases. Go to our Locate a Member page for more details.
InformOntario members contribute to the work of and/or are also members of the following organizations:
Alliance of Information and Referral Systems (AIRS) – a professional umbrella for all I&R providers in both public and private organizations. AIRS offers an accreditation program that measures an organization’s ability to meet the AIRS Standards, and a certification program that evaluates the competence of individual I&R practitioners.
Community Information Online Consortium (CIOC) – a member-driven non-profit consortium which creates, improves and supports its online data software and related tools, products and services, including reporting capability and volunteer management. The CIOC software is used by most IO members.
InformCanada (IC) – a professional umbrella for all I&R providers in both public and private organizations within Canada. IC oversees the Canadian Taxonomy of Human Services (classification system), administers the Canadianized AIRS’ certification program, and assists in the implementation of national initiatives such as 211 in Canada.
